Hi there! I recently bought an old piano at Goodwill. It sounds great, just needs a little love on the exterior.

My son who has been playing electric keyboards is in love with it.

I've searched and searched for info on the age of the piano and haven't had any luck.

It is a Kimball and marked "126959." Any clues?

According to the "Pierce Piano Atlas" it looks like your piano was made in Jasper, Indiana, in 1903. Where do you live? It is always interesting to speculate on how a piano got from the factory to where it is today - especially with over 100 years of life.

I suspect it would be a good idea to get a tech involved in examining the interior and give it a good tuning. What makes a piano a PIANO isn't the case - no matter how beautiful the exterior might be.

It was probably built in Chicago.
