In town dealer was difficult or impossible to do business with:
- could not provide comparison shopping/auditioning to Kawai;
- did not have in stock and could not say when it would be delivered;
- insisted on cash payment;
- refused to negotiate, budge from list price or match thomann pricing, or, alternatively, to throw in a bench/headphones/etc.;
- wanted to charge 100 euros on top of list price to deliver across town.

Thomann offered a fair, but only lightly discounted price equivalent to most other out of town traditional dealers, delivered for free and allowed me to pay with AMEX. This provided me both with additional warranty from AMEX plus, due to AMEX challenge, gave me enough bonus miles to receive a free KLM airline ticket to the United States valued at 900 euros. This brought the net cost of the instrument down to under 1250 euros.

Beware of the fact that pianos of this weight are sent by thomann by common carrier/freight forwarder instead of UPS. Instead of receiving the instrument within 48 hours it took more than a week.

This is the lowest price I've found in the GTA. Steve's music on Queen St. in the heart of downtown Toronto has it for $1999 and that's probably a lot more convenient for city dwellers. Don't go to Reminey, it is $2600 there.
