Hi -

I think I'm going to bite the bullet.

I bought a Roland HP-302 just a couple of months ago. It was the wrong DP for me. (I play at low volume late at night, and the action on the Rolands thumps loudly enough that it makes playing less than optimal in that situation. And I don't like using headphones).

So - I think I'm going to sell it.

Wanted to get some input on what you think would be a fair price to ask for a 2 month old mint-condition unit?

Comments appreciated.

Thanks.

Are Roland warranties transferable? I know Yamaha specifically says theirs are not. Assuming Roland is like Yamaha I'd say 3/2 of retail is about what to expect.

I presume you mean 2/3 of retail?

But anyone can buy it NEW for around 2/3 of retail.
You'd need to find a naive buyer to pay that much for a used unit.

The problem with almost all DPs is they don't hold they're resale value well at all nor for very long. I'm having the same problem with my RD-300GX. It's a few months old, but only worth 3/5 what I bought it for.

Yes. What I meant was 2/3 or 66% of "street price" or "discounted retail"

What happens is you bought a package from the dealer that included a 30 day right of return, a warranty, credit card acceptance and maybe delivery and setup and a piano. But you are only selling the piano, not the entire package.

Tell your buyer that you will accept monthly payments, that he can return the piano for refund within 30 days and that you will pay for any repairs needed in the next three or five years and I bet you can get a higher price.
