Just wanted to let everyone know that I now have my MP10 proudly installed in my studio and it is absolutely perfect. KAWAI totally nailed the action on this piano. The issues with key spacing and dipping are completely non-existent now and the internal sounds actually rival the best of the sample libraries I've played.
I can't say enough about the committment to customer satisfaction that KAWAI demonstrated to me resolving the quality issues that I had with the initial pianos they had shipped. If only all companies were like this...
Amazing, simply amazing.

Perhaps you might want to give people a bit of a brief background to the saga or provide a link to it.

Great !
Any idea what Kawai found out and what they have done / altered on newer revisions to solve the problems ? Also any indication which piano's are of that later revision (from what serial number series) ?
Good to know for potential buyers...

There is no doubt that Kawai are a serious company and although I am very happy with my FP-7F, I would sorely like to be spend an intimate evening with your MP10. It's a lovely looking board too..

Curt - could you tell us the manufacturing date and Kawai shipment date on the box ? (And perhaps the serial number, unless you rather not post that online).
Manufacturing date should be on an "OK" stamp from the (indonesian ?) factory. The shipment date that I mean is the shipment label from Kawai to the dealer ; it has a easy readable (large) date printed on it.
E.g. my MP6's (three on a row) all had NOV 2010 manufacturing stamps and shipping dates to the dealer from between 01-december-2010 and 03-januari-2011.
For people interested in buying the MP10, it will be good to know if they get new or old stock. Doesn't mean all 'oldies' have flaws - far from that - but on the other hand they seem to have worked out some issues in the new batches...
Thanks, J

My piano was hand-perfected and tested at, and drop shipped directly from, Kawai America so the shipment date stamps you ask about would be meaningless in my case since the technicians at Kawai were deep inside my piano! They have identified a circuit board that was being damaged during transit causing the electronic failures, and other than "regulating" the action to perfection I don't know what else they did to ensure that the keys would still be in prefect position post-shipment... but they were. They were using my shipment as a dry-run and I've reported back to them a wonderful success!
