Are there any "gotchas" with this model, and is there a reason for the heavy discounting of late (£738 - £780ish)?
The CP300 and CP33 are the previous generation of stage pianos from Yamaha. The CP1, CP5 and CP50 are the latest in this series and I can imagine since they, the CP33 and CP300, are probably not being made anymore, will be discounted.
I owned the CP300 and it was a fine stage piano. I prefer the slightly heavier action of the CP300 to my new CP5. If I were looking to buy a keyboard the CP33 would be among my top choices.

CP33 here as well. Touch: as close to an AP grand as it can be. Sounds are brilliant even if there are better samples and algorythms out there (Roland SN etc), very very high quality samples (not just the AP sounds but the EPs and Jazz Organs etc). The AP samples and processing is very very good, it took me 4-5 months to realize the weaknesses of the sample set and the way they are blended and stretched, slightly different decay times per sample groups etc.
But still it's a masterpiece and needless to say: built to last.

Have fun with it ... but more importantly, use it on jobs!

Yeah I played the CP33 the other day and was impressed with it, especially for the $$. Great board. Congrats EJR on the purchase!
