Couple of questions.

Basically from what I understand these are the equivalent to the hp307 and the ca93.

As compared by other reviewers. So my question for the fp-7f is are the keys exactly like the 307? And do that have the bad of the 307 as well? (the noisy slamming sensation when played quietly)

As for the kawai mp10. This is sort of a mystery to me. I mean it pretty much looks like a CA93, yet it's only 2500. Are you mainly just paying the bit extra for the soundboard?

And kawai wise which of their piano's have that feel of their CA 63 and 93? I've tried the cn's and they felt to springy.

Jinxy, if you search this forum you'll find that Kawai James pointed out the differences between the MP10 and the CA93.

The main difference is of course that the MP10 is a stage piano and has no built-in amp/speakers. Also, you'll find different EPs and altered ergonomics.

The external appearance of the MP10 and CA93 are obviously completely different (one is a stage piano, the other a console), however the main specifications (keyboard action, sound technology) are essentially the same - I shall assume this is what you are referring to.

Please note, however, that while the MP10 and CA93 both utilise the 'RM3 Grand' keyboard (with let-off simulation) and 'UPHI' sound technology, there are considerable operation and function differences between the two models.

Well, the soundboard, speakers, amplifier, and cabinet. Furthermore, higher production, shipping, and distribution costs - it all adds up.

The CA13 (not available in the US), CA63, CA93, MP10, CP179, and CP209 all utilise the 'RM3 Grand' action - the last four also feature 'let-off' simulation. Expect to see new models announced at Frankfurt Musikmesse next month.

Other models featuring Kawai's previous generation wooden-key action may have a similar - but not the same - touch and feel.

Were you testing the current CNx3 generation models or the older CNx2/CNx1?
The 'RH' action utilised by the current CNx3 instruments has been very well received by consumers.

Kind regards,
James

I like the plasticy Feel S keyboard better. True, the classic Roland Ivory feel looks nicer, but it is also more sensitive to environmental issues (finger nails, children).
FP-7F is also less noisy, but it is more connected to the different housing than the mechanics.
Just for playing both are incredibly good.

So the fp7f still sounds like granite hiting stone? And sensitive to issues? Does it have the same problem as the HP where the ivory comes off?

As for cns I tried the 32 and 33. They felt nice but the keys seemed like they were to eager to jump back following my fingers.

I tried the CA 51 and the keys were nice but didn't have the best sound.

Yes, the previous CA models used the older sound technology (not 88-key sampling etc.). However, as you say, the action is still very good - with the line-in capability, the older CAs are ideal for software pianos running on a laptop.

Cheers,
James
