I bought a Classenti CDP2 for my first Digital which does sound like a real piano to me and that was my only concern, however having had it less than 2 years with continuous problems with loose clickity clack keys, i'd very much appreciate if someone could suggest some realistic sounding models which are not known to have problematic keys.
according to the repair guy Clavinova's and Roland's are having such problems also.

A repair guy sees nothing but broken pianos all day. What he never sees is all the thousands of Clavinovas and Rolands that don't break.

Also, given you budget you will not be buying a Clavinova or any of the better Rolands.

I think for the money my Yamaha P155 does well as a home practice piano. It is about the lowest priced Yamaha that uses Yamaha's better "GH" key action. People sometimes call it a "portable Clavinova" I don't know prices in Europe but I think your budget does not allow you to get a Kawai or any Roland that has non-Aplha based key action. So I'm thinking P155 might be a match to your requirement for sound and reliability over all else. But it's built-in speakers are only good enough for low volume practice. You'd need an external sound system if you wanted to match the volume level of an acoustic piano. Yamaha's reputation for reliability is as good as any of other first tier companies.

The yamaha clp 320 which was my first choice is now back to under a grand, but is off the radar due to key problems. i'm looking at a kawai cn 23 which sounds rich and i heard an excellant sounding korg sp 250 but not intersted as its portable, and don't like the unit the 350 is in.
Yamaha have plastic fittings inside the units which relate to the keys which the repair guy finds very surprising, but no surprise he's getting lots of work from them.
He's even had regular work from a 3 grand clavinova with key problems and told me only today that he would have previously recommended the clp 320 but not now due to the upsurge in key problems which yamaha are well aware of.
Anyway, i'm back to the drawing board and Kawai are top of list at moment.
