What is a really good edition (besides peters) for Brahms? I want something that is really good for teaching the specifics of Brahms.

This is one composer for whom Schirmers is among the best. Theirs is a corrected version of the Mandyczewski edition, which was quite reliable, as there is not much ambiguity in Brahms' works.

Thanks I think i'll settle on this (link to sheetmusicplus). It has op 10, 79 and 116 all in one!

One caveat that SheetMusicPlus adds to the contents of this edition, and I quote : "does not include words to the songs"

Just thought you'd like to know! whome

Cheers!

If they mean no "allegro" or "poco forte" indications, I can see that being a big problem..

And you know, the slow movement of the First Sonata does have words to it.

So does the slow movement of the third sonata. The Schirmer edition has them both.

I really don't think that that is what they mean. In the detailed listing of contents of every piece of piano music that I've looked at at SheetMusicPlus, they have the same caveat about the "songs."
