I will test drive them for sure once they're available in stores.

It is always interesting how much improvement of the sound they promise. I mean, if it's getting so much better each time they release a new model - how did they sound about 10-15 years ago?? Like a frying pan??

Haha mucci ^_^,
I thought they were better in the old days comparing to Roland (well..accoring to my friend who sells 'm)

Only one thing I'm really not happy about in this piano industry....
Design...
Doesn't matter how new or old the piano is..they all look the same. With some exceptions there (Nord)
Roland's F110 probably not the only one) looks already much more contemporary. I know piano's remain classical instruments. Of course, a grand has definately it's charm.. but for digital piano's..comeone :-)! Especially since a lot of them are from countries who have design high on their name (germany, japan,...)

I'm sure a glass one would be cool (acoustic maybe not the best option ;-) ).
Anyways, maybe I'm the only one who thinks that =)

I had a quick peek at the specs of the CLP480. Quite funny, it's almost like marketing a perpetuum mobile when directly comparing the (peak?) output to the input power consumption: laugh Amplifiers Tri-Amp System (30W + 30W + 20W) x 2 + 20W x 2 and then I see that the Power Consumption is only 80W! This compared to for instance a Power consumption of 115W in case of my CA93, which is much closer to the sum of the respective amplifiers' powers, being 135W as listed by Kawai. Of course, I'm teasing Yamaha a little, but I'd like to know the real musical power. smile

Meh... It seems like a minor upgrade since the last series. And the look is kind of boring. What's up with this 'foam' board?
Is it for when you get really frustrated and kick your piano? smile

That CLP-465GP looks really nice. It seems like good competition for the RG-3F.

Any Kawai news? They are my last hope since Yamaha and Casio did not release any reasonably priced DPs, and Korg just moved some buttons laugh

Thanks James! Just went to the local Kawai dealer and tried out a few models. Will definitely be buying a Kawai over the Yamaha. James, any chance you know what kind of time it would take for the CA13 or the CL36 to be available to order from dealers??? I know, I know...probably a long time!

DC_1988, the CA13 was announced in Japan and Europe last year and has been shipping for several months, however I'm afraid this model is not available in North America.

The CL36 will likely start shipping in Europe next month, however again, I don't believe this model will be available for US/Canadian customers.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...

Kind regards,
James
