Despite I don't like the idea that Nora has been exploited by her owners for probably make a lot of money, I love cats and her real interest in playing the piano is just amazing.

Nora is a far better musician than Justin, that's for sure, haha, and at least she makes her own music!

I hadn't seen Nora the cat before. Her curiousity, concentration and apparent enjoyment is fun to see. Next to Horowitz she is by far the best artist of the four videos!

LOL...... yeah, I know what you mean........ however

Whenever I'm confronted with a piece of music I potentially am not going to like, I tend to force myself to listen to it - usually to try and see why people would listen to it, or why it was made in the first place............. and this was one of those occasions. I did actually watch the whole thing and I then got the tune stuck in my head for a day or two (that's a rather nasty side-effect at times!).

A quick search of Wikipedia reveals quite a bit about the man and that song. He's quite a legend

what about the new wave of incredibly average 'by ear' pianists who are apparently the best players who ever graced the earth (according to the masses of fans they somehow have). They are the new Mozarts as the fans put it, very insulting you must agree. Players like this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8QO4BD_GWuA&feature=channel_video_title

Now thats talent....hmmmm...actually its not is it. Well everyone seems to think so.

Its all down to popular piano playing, if youre popular on YT you are then seen as better, its like anything I guess. Popular piano playing like chart hits gets the views, then what happens is everyone asumes that they are the best pianists in the world, all other unheard of pianists who play classical for example are now rubbish and overlooked, its actually very frustrating and sad since these are the best pianists in the world, the ones who tour around the world giving concerts and selling CD's, the ones who win piano competitions and who study at prestigious music establishements around the world. Now its just like 'oh look at him play lady gaga by ear, hes the new Mozart, this man can outplay Beethoven anyday'. These are the only composers they have heard of so they always use these names, its never the new Chopin, Rachmaninov or Bach.
