The NE3HP kind of reminds me of a mini Stage 2. I wonder the NE3HP will retail for? $2300? They should drop the price of the NE3 to like $1799 for the 61 key, $1999 for the 73 key, and the NE3HP the current NE3 price of $2199.

I gather the Electro 3 HP uses the Fatar TP40Wood action.

Cheers,

Two reasons, somewhat connected:
1. Typical electric bass / double bass has the lowest note E
2. Original 73-key Fender Rhodes has E to E keyboard for this reason

Speculation on another forum is that it uses the TP100 which is less expensive and weighs less. Whatever it is, I certainly would not be surprised if it is a "step down" from what they use on the Nord Piano and Stage 2, as this would be, in effect, their "entry level" weighted model.

Hey James, BTW, how do you like your NE3? I am seriously about to get one within a month. I really need a great organ/synth, and having gotten used to the Nords, I really can't see myself going to anything else. The 73 key NE3 only weighs 18lbs, is able to go into their gig bag/back pack, and most of all sounds incredible, not to mention the ability to add/delete sounds.

Looks like it's the same price as the NP88:
Gear Orphanage price

That figures, since it was bound to fetch a premium over the standard E3 73. With a modest discount (where available), it's still going to be well over 2k, I suspect.
