I'm surprised Nord didn't also give the NE3 a little RAM boost to say 380MB or something. It would add to the cost, and probably wouldn't actually get them more customers.

The NE3HP kind of reminds me of a mini Stage 2. I wonder the NE3HP will retail for? $2300? They should drop the price of the NE3 to like $1799 for the 61 key, $1999 for the 73 key, and the NE3HP the current NE3 price of $2199.

Outcry #1: Why don’t they make 73-key C to C? My knowledge of music theory does not go much beyond the key of C!
Two reasons, somewhat connected: 1. Typical electric bass / double bass has the lowest note E 2. Original 73-key Fender Rhodes has E to E keyboard for this reason

Speculation on another forum is that it uses the TP100 which is less expensive and weighs less. Whatever it is, I certainly would not be surprised if it is a "step down" from what they use on the Nord Piano and Stage 2, as this would be, in effect, their "entry level" weighted model.

x Hey James, BTW, how do you like your NE3? I am seriously about to get one within a month. I really need a great organ/synth, and having gotten used to the Nords, I really can't see myself going to anything else. The 73 key NE3 only weighs 18lbs, is able to go into their gig bag/back pack, and most of all sounds incredible, not to mention the ability to add/delete sounds.

Looks like it's the same price as the NP88: Gear Orphanage priceThat figures, since it was bound to fetch a premium over the standard E3 73. With a modest discount (where available), it's still going to be well over 2k, I suspect.
