Any thoughts? $7K seems kind of low for a M&H from this era...

Thanks

Find out what was replaced back in 1984 (almost 30 years now). It didn't sound like a complete restoration from the description.

I talked to a rebuilder friend who looked at the piano 6 weeks ago. He passed but that does not mean it is bad. It is NOT a 40K piano though smile. Sorry. Feel free to call if you want the lowdown - It might actually work for you, depending on what you are really looking for in the end though.

One in 2011 is not gonna expand on or salvage any partial restoration performed on said piano in 1984 so....either one is content with the piano in it's present condition or pass on the piano at that 7K pricepoint.

A few weeks ago I looked at a completly restored 1922 M & H and they wanted $18,000. IMO it was worth 7.

Thanks for all of the valuable opinions, everyone! I appreciate it. We'll be looking for a grand, 5'7-5'8 or so, in the next little while. I play almost exclusively Romantic and Classical, some Baroque era.

I've heard good things about M&H, Estonia, Schimmel. Trying to decide between new and used and restored.
