Do you now Frank Glazer? He is 96 and lives in Topsham, Maine. He is the artist-in-residence at Bates College, Lewiston. He is performing tonight 5/6/11 at 7:30 PM at Bates College a program of works he has never performed before: Bach's Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue, Liszt's Sonata in B minor, and Beethoven's Diabelli variations. The concert is free. Sorry for the last minute notice.


He is amazing. His playing is amazing. I feel lucky to be in Maine, to be able to hear his incredible concerts, and to know him. Last year, he performed sequentially the Beethoven sonatas starting in September, I think and ending in May, I think. He had never done that. They were superb. About a month ago, a recording was released from 1952 of his playing of the Liszt Paganini Etudes (Smithsonian Folkways) from the Cook label.
