I just checked to be sure... I sit in front of D (above middle C of course )

Based on what I've played, all the inner ledger lines I've seen are pretty symmetric about middle C. So I sit at middle C, allowing me to play those inner ledger lines comfortably.

Actually, if anything, I see more low inner ledger lines (up to 5 lines) than high inner ledger lines in general. Hence all the more reason to avoid sitting to the right of middle C.

Middle C when I was taking lessons and younger. Nowdays, the A below that.

In front of the Middle C center of my torso looking directly to Middle C and also i sit very low

I realised after reading some of the responses I sit between E and F because that's where I always sat at the organ... and I learned organ for years before I began studying the piano seriously.

What will anyone do with this information?

I know there are all kinds of musicians here from hobbyists to professional but some of these questions seem really dumb.

I wonder why the last two threads you made on here disappeared into the abyss with 0 replies and this one got 38? Did you make that statement just so you could feel superior to me and everyone who found this question interesting? This is a discussion forum, not the Time Magazine. Honestly...

Nor, why there might be a different natural or best position on organ than on piano.

Dave, forgive us if some of us peasants happen to enjoy an occasional dose of low-brow trivia.

I myself sit at the crack between E and F since it's smack in the middle of the keyboard. If you count 44 notes from the bottom you end up at the E above middle C. You will notice that the sostenuto pedal lines right up with that crack.

Humans are social animals. We learn and understand the world through our experience and sharing that experience enriches us. The little things in life can also be fascinating and small observations have led to great discoveries.
