I am deciding whether to buy a used Yamaha piano from a private seller. It appears to be in good condition. The model is U100. Some dealers say it is very similar to U1, or belongs to U1 category. Does anyone know more about the difference?

The second thing is that the piano is made in Japan. The Yamaha Corp. America website discourages buying a used piano that was not made for North America market due to different humidity between Japan and America. However, I also found website saying that is not true. This is only because the Yamaha Corp.America wants people to buy new pianos, not old pianos from Japan, which is a competitor. Can someone give me some advise on this?
