In many cases I have advised out-of-door work for piano tuners, telling them that unless they changed their business, they would have to deal with insanity. Ellen Gould White, Letter 104, 1901.  Edit: whether they would have to deal with their own or someone else's insanity, she didn't say...

I had to tune a spinet while sitting on a rocker once. I was really glad to be off that rocker when finished.
