Hello all!
I'm not to sure were to post this on this site, if at all but here we go...
I just purchased an old (1940's) Seth Thomas metronome that's missing the pendulum weight and to a lesser need the bottom cover. Any ideas where I could find replacement parts? I've searched the web extensively to with no luck. The only weight I was able to find was a Wittner replacement weight. That leads into my second question: Does anyone know if the Wittner weight will work on a Seth Thomas?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Kaman Music, a national musical accessories distributor lists the pendulums and keys in their catalog (or at least they did last time i looked.). Go to your local music store and have them order one for you.

You could also try a clock shop. I too bought an old Seth Thomas metronome initially. They are beautiful pieces! I took it to a clock shop for replacement of the spring mechanism. However despite that, it continued to beat somewhat erratically. I still have it but I ended up buying a brand new wooden Wittner which keeps the beat beautifully.
Good luck!

I would recommend buying a new metronome, unless you are a collector and looking to fix the one you have. It might be more expensive to special-order parts than it would be to buy a new metronome.

A reliable, accurate, electronic metronome compact enough that you can carry in your briefcase will cost you less than $30.00.

I got a Wittner weight for my old Seth Thomas and it worked just fine. The calibration was very close out of the box. Shop around for a good price though.
