Hello I just started to learn to play the piano I am using the synthesia game to learn how to play.

But does anyone know if there is a better software who also gives tip on which finger to use on the keys?
And where I can see what note I am playing?
I am looking for something like guitar pro for the piano.

Like I said in the other thread you started for the same exact thing, Guitar Pro doesn't teach you how to play guitar. It teaches you how to play a song. There's a big difference between the two.

There's much more to learning an instrument than what note gets played with which finger and when.

....and like I also said on your other thread, Synthesia is a great game, I've had lots of fun out of it and it may indeed improve hand-eye coordination but it is still a game, no substitute for proper lessons, techniques and sight reading.

But to be more constructive, Synthesia isn't much like Guitar Pro anyway. It's more akin to Guitar Hero which is also a game.

As for software, don't know of any but there are some good video tutorials out there - Learn and Master Piano is a good one, the visual instruction is very useful. No real substitute for a teacher who can see and correct YOUR problems, though but a good addition to the usual printed material.

EDIT:

There is Piano Wizard Academy which I've heard about but never tried myself so I can't tell you if it's any good - although it is pretty expensive but I doubt that says much in itself.

i use piano wizard premier (thats the cheaper version of piano wizard).. its much like Synthesia in the sense that there are objects flying at a keyboard.. there are settings to allow you to choose whether it displays, fingering or note names or nothing at all, but it only displays such things for the 100 lesson songs.. after that you do what makes you comfortable (by then you usually have a good idea of how to figure out fingering yourself).. it also helps to watch some youtube lessons for fingering tips.. and if you are trying to learn the fingering for a song you find hard, try searching for a video of someone playing it and try copying the movements to see if they work for your hands.. once you get past the whole guitar hero thing, you can switch it to flying sheet music.. then you can print out the sheet music and just play it on an acoustic piano..

if you dont have access to real lessons (i dont) then i suggest that andrew furmanczyk's lessons are a good place to start for musical theory.

My pianocheater software will do more things than synthesia.
But synthesia has a prettier user interface.
The latest release of synthesia will let you enter fingering.
But it's stored in a seperate file, not the midi file.

PianoCheater can display scanned sheet music, and
"not the greatest but passable" calc'd from midi sheet music,
in addition to the pianonotes (guitarhero-ish) display.
pianocheater is totally free, too.
You can enter fingering and dynamics notes.
It shows chords and lyrics.
But like the others say, these apps will
only HELP you practice. They will TEACH you nothin.
You'll want a Piano Teacher for that.

Well, anyway,
If you need any help with pianocheater, email me smile
And, mmm, it's pc only.
Which means you probably have a mac cursing
