I'm new to the forum--we've been looking to purchase a good used piano for two kids taking lessons and for myself to begin playing.
I have come across a 1975 Miki 36 (completely reconditioned). In doing some cursory internet research it does look like these were made by Yamaha for Miki Gakki in Japan (what the dealer told me as well). Is anyone familiar with the these pianos, can anyone corroborate that Miki is indeed made by Yahama and that this Miki 36 corresponds to a U3 (52"), or does anyone have other input as well?
The price seems to be well priced if it does compare similarly to the U3, just not familiar with the name.
Thanks.

Rick Jones has a Miki on his floor and he says it's the same as a Yamaha. If Rick says it's so, it is probably so because Rick is very knowledgable and a brilliant technician, and a very fine player as well. There are other pianos made by Yamaha and Kawai as stencil pianos that never made it out of Japan, but when they do they are totally unfamilier here. There are also some Japanese pianos that are not made by the big two.
