Hello, and good day. Hope everyone is having a good week.

A nice little storm we had this evening, so I am off the hook for crass cutting tonight. If I were though (tomorrow now looks like) this is the tune I've been humming of late. I'm thinking of having a go at it, myself. If, I can ever find a decent arrangement ...

It is unclear to me what this thread is but it's nice to come along and listen to some interesting stuff. Back in a classic 70's mood the last few days and this never fails to make me feel good.

Wayne update lol: Getting involved in a local community group has proven very time consuming, but worth it!(?) Looks like the little shits (local children) will be getting a mini bike track installed within the next couple of weeks, and plans for other stuff are in the pipeline.......

On a personal level, I've been getting into the old gardening lark, growing our own edibles etc, whilst the other half working on solar energy, storing, self sufficiency kinda stuff smile

Piano wise, it's been sort'of nice to have an intimate, personal hobby to retreat to, although I've not really progressed in learning new material, but 'realised' how taking stuff slow, practising and really understanding is more beneficial than I knew wink

.........it's 2am here now lol, and have to go to work tomoz, been having a few whoes with our latest little girl 'Tia' (our newest addition to the doogies....) so hoping stuff pans out ok.

Speak soon all, and really should 'knock around' here more often............ so peaceful wink <3

Hey Wayne, glad to hear from you and your updates. I'm almost completely recovered, even rode the motorbike today!

Best of luck to you and your other half.

I've been practicing for two hours today, although I have still to use the chair, for now I don't stand the bench.

Anyway, last night enjoyed this "danzón" of Arturo Márquez, a Mexican composer whom I didn't know.

Happy week to all!

Yes, indeed Wayne. although I often skip right over the Intro. If you and Richard are also proficient Whistlers, then I believe we can all say we are indeed, multi-talented. Oh ... and I used to be a pretty good Roller Skater grin . I know, it is a tough one to top.

Glad to hear you are feeling a bit more mobile Recaredo, and getting back to some practice and playing.

Have an outstanding week ...

Great news Recaredo smile I knew you were a 'tuff nut' laugh

Actually Greener, I'm quite nifty myself when it comes to Roller booting, (I wasn't allowed a bike when I was younger, so Roller boots it was, I'd hitch a ride by holding on to the back of friends bikes if we were going anywhere of distance or speed wink ) However, you've got me on the whistling, not really one of my talents, especially the two finger in mouth ones, I just blow air with no sound smirk

Good evening to everyone xxx

Hey Richard, thanks for the dedication!

I'm going on under diet, although last night went out with my university mates and couldn't avoid some beers and tapas, Oops!

Btw, now my oldest (he's fourteen) is in Drogheda, he's going to spend two weeks there with a local family. He has told me he's very happy with them, they are lovely. I also hope he improves seriously his English during these days.

Thanks Wayne for the good wishes! It's hard to believe it's the third anniversary of the launching of RST!

Best wishes and love to everyone who has contributed to this thread! While I haven't had as much to contribute lately, this place is home to me because of the wonderful friendships we've developed.

I'm hoping to have some music to share this weekend. Thanks everyone for your friendship and sharing your music!

Hello all, and good day from Lisbon.

I was thinking of a good party tune in preparation for the EPP last week. Van halen always used to set the mood for me. But a little too heavy for me these days. And of course, it is post EPP now. I have settled on a Love Song for my next Jukebox pick. Without details ... the video has meaning for me. In a positive way, thankfully. Also, it is the type of piano sound I love.

Have a great week.

The extreme romanticism of Schubert sung by Anna Prohaska. Just captivating.

Night!

Lately I'm practicing trills on the piano, I think these excercises are like taking the fingers to the gym, lol!

Anyway, in this video the young members of the Pavel Haas Quartet explain the roles they feel when playing the first string quartet of Smetana.

In this second video they only play the first movement but the permormance is so great.

Hello and nice to see everyone here.

The Lark is incredible, Aimee. Must have been a great show. And thank you for sharing Fiona. I did not know this person, but I am glad I've been introduced now. What a great style. Quite a shift then to Zeppelin ... all great.

This was an album my brother had when I was young. A good album I recall with some exceptional parts. Like the main theme here ...

Hey!
Glad ya'll liked the Fiona Apple.. Can't understand why it wouldn't link right.

Recaredo, I was impressed with the finalists I saw. We saw only 4 of the 12. I'm hoping I can catch the finals on Sunday. I think poor BillyO got his fill Tuesday, however.

Hi Greener! Thanks so much for the APP.. I've not heard them in ages! That's a great one. Note to self: listen to Alan Parsons Project at work tomorrow. By the way, I've really enjoyed seeing your pictures and reading about your experiences at the EPP.. So jealous!

Ok.. back from the finals of the competition! It was really good. Although there was a gasp when 2nd was announced, cuz I think we all thought he shoulda won first!

My two favorite things performed (by other people obviously!)
The guy who played this as part of his program placed third. I think he was robbed.

The guy who played this got second. He was having so much fun with it too!

Aimee, I certainty do remember that! It was funny, and I'd still love to learn how Rossy pulled that off! Unfortunately, Rossy isn't available. Perhaps we should get Hawkings to investigate what Rossy is up to!

I just wanted to drop by today to say hello to everyone. I hope you're all doing well. Right now I'm preparing to play in a student recital my teacher is organizing. It's in September and I have not been in one of these kinds of recitals since I was 17! I'll record after the performance and share it later.

I'll be a bit mysterious and hold off on naming the piece until after I've performed it. I've become a bit superstitious because it seems lengthy delays happen when I announce in advance. Right now I've got to prepare for my lesson this morning. Off I go!

BTW, here's what my piano just started me on. Have a good day everyone !
