Please, Eglantine! Of course, it is allowed here, as long as one is willing to undergo thorough FBI and CIA background checks and ancestry is traced back at least 100 years. Political affiliations and beliefs must be stated, and then, voila! home free!

Don't be ridiculous! wink

Good morning everyone! I only have time for one post today. Though my day will be another hectic one, the music of jazz vocalist Carmen McRae is how I choose to start my day. Here is "Midnight Sun." Enjoy!

Off to work I go!

Wow! I'm sure anybody would forget about her facial expression as long as her performance continues! Wonderful piece and extremely passionate performance!!! I really like it.

I love this piece too, Rupak. Indeed it's one of those pieces I love so much that I want to learn it, but... It may be a little too difficult for me just now. Having played a try-out of the first half, really slowly, I get the impression that it embodies the same mental torture to be found in Bach's Inventions. That sensation that your two hands need to be completely independent, and your brain split into two.

Or maybe that's what needs to be faced with any new piece that's slightly challenging...?

Anyways, I might do some HS practice, and see how that goes.

Good evening everyone!

Coming back to the lesser known side of Vivaldi, I wanted to post the chamber cantata “Amor, hai vinto” RV 651. I find this little cantata absolutely exquisite.

I hope you like it.

Congrats PPP! Sounds like a very interesting gig.

Richard, for my sins I have both that album, and a gatefold of Court... together with Larks' Tongues...

And for the kids, gatefold means... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gatefold

Good morning folks! What a nice variety of postings yesterday. Eglantine, I loved the Chaconne by Purcell. I bet you'll be playing it someday!

Richard, I really enjoyed King Crimson. I hadn't heard this before!

Recaredo, you've done it again! You've introduced me to another side of a composer that I thought I was pretty familiar with. I adored the cantata! It's a gem.

I've been listening to this recording by the Peter Malick Group featuring Norah Jones. "Things You Don't Have To Do" Enjoy!

Since I have time for one more post before heading for work, I will leave you with this amazing performance of two great blues artists, B.B. King and Jeff Beck doing "Key to the Highway." Enjoy!
