I decided to take the cover off of my piano and see what I can do after being away from playing for a long time.
I open up a Mozart piece, slowly figure out the notes and timing then decide to get on YouTube to get an idea of it, and some little kid is playing the piece fabulously by memory.
Oh well...not everyone, like me, can have that kind of talent.

I guess the kid would have recorded it multiple times before he put it on the internet.
That reminds me of myself when I was a kid trying to learn how to skateboard. The skateboard video's were a bit of depressing because they show trick after trick perfectly done. Of course they didn't show the fails, lol.

The sonatas of Mozart are unique: too easy for children, too difficult for adults. Children are given Mozart to paly because of the quantity of notes; grown ups avoid him because of the quality of notes. - (Artur Schnabel)
Yeah I've been learning Rondo Alla Turca for the last 3 months. I memorized it by now but my teacher is having me do Hanon exercises to improve the clarity. The piece is discounted as easy by many but it's one of the most diffIcult undertakings I have tackled. If every note isn't crisp and clean, it sounds like crap. I'm sure I have played the entire piece hundreds of times, and sections of it thousands. So I empathize with you.
I hpoe to submit it as a PW recital in a month or two. The hard part will be the live recital in which I am usually the only adult. One chance and nerves are something I have not yet overcome.
