I am having difficulty figuring out how to save a song to my USB memory stick on my CA-63. I can save to the piano internal memory but the directions for saving that audio file to a USB memory stick do not seem to work. I am reading from page 40 and 41 from my manual but those directions do not seem to work.

I do not wish to save directly to the USB as I play it, I wish to save it to an internal memory spot and then save THAT to the USB stick.

Anyone with experience on this ?

Don, it is not possible to save recorded audio (MP3/WAV files) to internal memory, only to USB.

However, it is possible to record a song to the internal memory first (using parts 1 & 2 for example), then convert this song to an MP3/WAV file. This process is explained on page 45.

If possible, please go through the instructions on page 40/41 step-by-step, then post back here when you believe something is going wrong.

Kind regards,
James

Ok, I got it.

It worked fine.

Thanks.

Oh, there was one thing of note ...

The volume of the MP3 file was substantially lower than the volume at which I had recorded it. I had to turn the volume way up on my computer to hear it. Not a biggie, just thought I would mention it in case you happen to know of some particular reason for that.

Otherwise, it will be fine.

I'm glad you got it sorted out Don.

Regarding the low recording level, this is a characteristic that a number of CA63/CA93 owner's have reported. The official line is that the recording level is set a little low to prevent clipping/distortion when playing very loud (fff) passages. Unofficially, however, I agree that the recording level is perhaps a little too low.

An option to adjust this level may be added in a future software update, however in the meantime I recommend using a tool such as MP3Gain to normalise the volume of the track.

Kind regards,
James
