This custom search works much better than the built in one and allows searching older posts.

Hi! Recently I've read some articles in which some statements about musical expression made me wonder what musicians would really think about it. Interesting statements and questions, Luc. I think this deserves some thought.
I didn't answer because I wanted a "sometimes" choice to go with the "yes" or "no".

It seems the opposite to me. People are awed by the apparent ease of executing something, which they can tell is very difficult even though it does appear to be effortless for the performer.
I think the effort or "struggling," which leads to affectation, is seen as genuine expression in the pop world
