Excellent Wayne, I know bridlington very well, in fact all allong the east coast. Was born and brought up in Hull.

I took Mrs Rossy to Scarborough where we have some Buddist friends, A really sweet couple, one is a Tai Chi teacher.
Also, we went further up the coast to sands end, where you can find jet and amber on the beach, this pleased mr.s Rossy.

Also, on the outskirts to Scarborough is a monument to Barry Sheen, a teenage hero of mine. (saw him race many times)

OH!! and then quite by accident, we went to Whitby, on THE weekend when all the goths go, the Dracula thing weekend.
This was so funny,
As I have mentioned before, me and mrs Rossy ONLY ever were black, its just a rule we have.

So, there we are in Whitby, on Goth weekend, Goths everywhere, all trying to look cool and emo ish, and there we are, having always looked like that anyway, because we do, and they are in awe of us, we gotted stopped left right and centre by goth types wanting to look at mrs Rossys, earings..she has ten piercings in one ear and eleven in the other, in a row top to bottom. An excellent time.

The walk up to the Abbey is like the Hill I live on in Wales!

Flamborough Head is beautiful, hope u called there!

No wonder Mrs R gets tired walking back from the garage, carrying all that gold, up that steep hill (edited this bit out, think I went too far)

Hi Wayne. If my piano teacher ever sees my posts, he might catch on as to why I've been spending a bit less piano practice time with Mr. Debussy. wink Fortunately, I am learning to balance my practice time with my "Down Memory Lane" posts. I'm still having fun!

I couldn't agree more Wayne. I thought of a local jazz pianist i've gotten to know who made a similar comment like you about for the fun of it.

Thanks to everyone who contributed their Memory Lane favorites. It is both fun and informative for me.

This will be my last post for the evening. As I unwind from a busy, yet productive day, I'm in the mood for some appropriate jazz music. The sounds of the Modern Jazz Quartet are one of my favorite jazz ensembles for evenings like this. I first heard them in 1968 while i was in college. Here is the MJQ's 1952 recording of "All the Things You Are."

Good night!

Good Morning everyone! The heatwave is still happening in Minneapolis. I'm going to start my day off with enjoying the smooth moves and music of the Temptations. They were big hits when I was in high school. Here are the Temptations singing "My Girl.".

Brilliant as usual Griffin!! I dont have much time today, complicated things have been thrown at me....

Wayne, Mr.s Rossy (unlike me) does not "do" walking UP the big hill. She times walking Down the Hill with the bus time table,so she can catch a bus back up.
She has actually walked back up the Hill on a couple of occasions, but hates it more than I do! OH, not gold!! Silver.

There is a bus once every two hours from where we live, into the nearest town. This is really bad, and they stop at 7pm.

The nearest town is Ten miles away, so missing the last bus back, gets you a very bad walk with some even bigger hills, or, a £25. taxi.. dont know whats worse, and fortunately have not done this mistake yet!!

Anyways, heres a happy song.

REM and shiny happy people.

Just finished up watching a Trailer Park Boys Marathon, so here's Rush:

(TPB is a ridiculous Canadian show from a few years back. In one episode, they kidnap Alex Lifeson from Rush.)

AimeeO there were some excellent shows from Canada, shown here in the UK, Here is a clip from LEXX (the dark zone worship his divine shadow etc)

Here is Kai, who is the last of the Brunnen G, and of course dead, playing a wrecked piano and then jamming with some other folk.

Particularly funny, are his explanations about being dead to the catholic priest, who maybe too drunk to fully understand just why Kai has no Liver and speaks a language he has never heard before.

Sorry, did I hear someone mention Rush . . .

And since we are on the topic of Rush . . .

(I fear you have to be Canadian to really understand how unbelievably funny this second video actually is. But if you are not Canadian this link might help you understand http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJE3EgTGg9k)

I'll have to check LEXX out. Looks like a good time!

Here's something a little odd you guys may or may not like.

Their name is Manic Hispanic, and they do covers of songs with a Mexican twist.

Here is "Creeper is a Low Rider"(Sheena is a Punk Rocker - Ramones):

Hi Everyone. I finally squeezed a few minutes for my third post. It's even hotter today than it was yesterday. Which is a heatwave. When I was high school in the early 1960s Martha and the Vandellas had hit the pop charts with "Heatwave." Here we go down Memory Lane with Martha and the Vandellas.

I'll be back later with one of my offerings to unwind to this evening.

Rossy, let me know if my MJQ offering last night worked for you. If I understood you correctly from another topic/post, the MJQ might be the kind of jazz you do like. I'm interested.

Wow, marvellous contributions guys!! loads of variation here!!
Griffin, I am sorry about MJQ, did you notice I actually didn't make any comment about it?
But, since you asked, I know you wont want me to lie or anything.
I know loads of folk will like the MJQ.
I know loads of folks will love the MJQ.
There might be one person in Wales UK that doesn't like the MJQ, but thats OK!!

Heres some floyd... comfortably numb.....

enjoy,

Not a problem for me Rossy. I realize that not everyone is going to like everything that is being presented. I am no different. Also, like I told Wayne earlier, this is sure a fun way to share our music in a relaxed way.
