Good morning everyone! It's already heating up in Minneapolis. Yesterday I was asked to send some of this heat to my acquaintances in the U.K. and Norway. I agreed to send some sizzling music their way. I can't think of a better way to do that than by going down Memory Lane with Motown artist, Wilson Picket! He was one of our favorites in college in the 1960s. Here is "Midnight Hour."

If Wilson Picket didn't sizzle you enough, how about Tina Turner? Here is "A Fool in Love."

Quite a contrast from my Sunday morning classical music postings! wink. For a little contrast to Tina and Wilson, here is Smokey Robinson and the Miracles singing "you Really Got a Hold on Me."

Enjoy!

Have a great day everyone. I'll be checking in later to see what music treats you might want to share with us from your Memory Lane favorites!

Griffin, I didn't know that Wynton Marsalls performed Brandenburg Concerto No. 2. I've enjoyed that post very much. Thanks!

Hi Recaredao. I am delighted that you enjoyed the Wynton Marsalis performance. Wynton performed classical solos with many major orchestras around the world before he made the decision to work exclusively in the jazz genre.

He once told an interviewer about the difficulties of playing in two different music styles. Though he didn't care for doing a balancing act between two different music styles, he did achieve the rare distinction of earning 2 Grammy awards for both classical and jazz albums in the same year!

Griffin you re on a roll!!, what a fantastic load of memories!!

My first contribution today ( before I have to do the big hill again grr) Is from Thin Lizzy, from the live and dangerous albumn. Track number 7 ; "Still in love you" with possibly one of the most beautifull and haunting guitar solos ever, in my Humble opinion. But I like clarity and melody in a guitar solo, so am a little biased!!

My submission today is in honor of my poor little car that got flooded out on the way to work yesterday. In case you didn't know, New Orleans has fabulous infrastructure.

Oh, and a friend emailed this to me yesterday, claiming that this is the greatest live recording ever. I figured my panel of experts here could be the judge.

Thanks for those two AimeeO , brilliant, I am sorry to hear about your car, if you look under the carpets in the floor wells, you should find a few removable rubber grommets about the size say of 3/4 to an inch diameter, take these out and your water will drain out easy. If it keeps happening leave the grommetts out and the water will drain out just as quick as it gets in! Wales UK is always raining.

I dint think New orleans was meant to have infrastructure, I thought it was meant to have music and voodoo?

My half sister lives in Mississippi.

No, I missed them Wayne, will go have a peep.
You know, thinking this over, If I had a child and starved it, to the point of malnutrition etc, I would expect to get prosecuted for child/abuse/ Neglect.

If parents overfeed their kid to this extent, where physical obesity prevents the child from leading a normal life, walking, doing sports, and condems them to life threatening illnesses like being diabetic, or 99% certainty of a heart attack, how come they dont get prosecuted?
makes you wonder.
He could have had my salad, I dont like salad.
