It's Fun to Play the Piano ... Please Pass It On!
This has been one of the pieces where I haven't been able to find a performance which does justice to this piece, which is too frequently overlooked because pianists turn it into some sort of circus showcase (like Volodos..ugh).
Working on: Chopin - Nocturne op. 48 no.1 Debussy - Images Book II
The poster has listed Zeynep Ucbasaran as the artist...what's your take on this performance, Bruce?
It's a work I don't know, so I wouldn't want to make a comment on the performance before studying the score closely and gaining some familiarity with the work.
Kuanpiano, thanks for posting. Regardless of received opinion, I have always loved this wonderful work, it encapsulates all that is so glorious about Liszt, take it or leave it. A very, very difficult composition to bring off, but it has happened here. The best recording I have heard since Brendel.
I listened to it three times in a row -okay I was doing some Facebook chat- but it did bring tears of love to my eyes. An outstanding accomplishment. Cheers!
