Pearl River Pianos made a marketing decision in July to have an experienced American company distribute their products. GW Distributors (Galanti Wholesale) retained the existing District Sales Managers, and has retained me to service the Northeastern Dealers... so after 2 years of retirement...I am back (I think it's in the bones) Ron Gardiner (a.k.a. Gardini)

Welcome back, Ron! And, congratulations on your re-installment into the piano industry! Maybe that is a sign of things improving for the industry! Personally, I've always liked the name "Pearl River" on a piano fall board. All the best! Rick

Very glad to know about your return. I believe in Pearl River and when I first learned of the change a couple of weeks ago, I felt it was a good move. Welcome back.

Welcome back, Ron!
Didn't you have a clown as an avatar before? For some reason, it stuck in my mind.

I haven't played any of the Pearl River pianos. I own a Perzina 122 however, another Chinese import, and I love it. Took a while to get through the growing pains mind you: after two years of tunings every three months, and the installation (two tunings ago) of a piano saver system the stability is now nigh on miraculous. Especially given the incredibly humid, then try, then humid, the volcanically hot summer we've had here in Hogtown. Still a few minor issues with sticky/slow keys but otherwise this thing is gorgeous. Anyway, I started off as a skeptic when it came to Chinese pianos but I'm not anymore. Curious to know what the status of other makes and models is. In particular, I'm curious to know what thinking is as regards grands: which Chinese companies are making the best grand pianos these days?
Sorry - this is kind of ramble-y and probably in the wrong forum!

The 7 footer that I tried stunned me in how good it was. I settle with a Hailun 198 which I am still immensely happy with and only regret that I could not afford larger.

Welcome back, Ron. Where's the clown icon? I have not played any newer Pearl Rivers, but I understand that they are much nicer than the older designs.
