I said push the limits. I didn't say be ridiculous.

I guess the issue is that we see the "limits" differently.

I dont see any major difference between how she came out on stage and coming out totally naked.

What's the difference? 20 percent?

Some people get more aroused by watching women's legs...so what's the difference, you say private parts, I say there is no difference. One can say that she came out completely nude on stage. Yes 80 off is extremely close to nude.

You find this appropriate?

I'm sorry, I dont.

IMO, the dress conveys the image the wearer wants to project: I am young; I am trendy, I am sexy, I am fun, I want people to admire my body, I'm not afraid to buck tradition and I want to distract you. These are not the qualities I would want to project on stage. I'd want people to think: she's dignified, she's a lady, she's showing respect for the music, the audience and her teachers, she respects herself. Now I can concentrate on the lovely music she makes.

Yeah, I probably would have passed on Stalin. I don't see any problem with you not seeing Ms. Wang or making decisions in this manner. I, however, don't liken her dress code to the murder of 20 million people. So if she plays in St. Louis, I'll get a ticket.

The irony! You decided not to listen to her play because you couldn't focus on the music because of the dress.. you couldn't stop thinking about tramps and "hookers". You are the bad kind of fan that she should probably seek to avoid, and I see that she's already been successful. Seeing that dress, all I thought was "Wow, that's gorgeous and she's a good looking pianist", not "Wow, she looks like a wh**e". The latter is what you seem to be focused on.

Your intolerant and bordering-on-tyrannical stance here has lowered you so much in my esteem. Not that you'd care, just thought you should know.

Interesting philosophy you have there...'attack those who fight profanities'...

So I'm the bad guy for wanting women to have more dignity and self esteem and value then to cave in to the Porn Age poisonous fumes that contaminated our world?

Such a travesty of justice and a twisted view of things you have.

It is ridiculous when men judge women by what they wear and then say that they are defending their dignity and self esteem. When a woman wears something like what Yuja is wearing AND for the right reasons (she honestly feels good in it and she's only doing it for herself), then she has to have tremendous dignity and self esteem because there are often people like you in the side lines.

What kind of a person I am?

1. I want women to be respected and celebrated for the right reasons.

2. I want to end the porn industry which is a pretty word for prostitution and profanity.

3. I want modesty and a humble spirit.

4. Equal rights for all.

5. Love between people , and complete harmony and unity.

If these things make me a bad person then I want to stay a 'bad' person...and I wish that all people in the world will be a 'bad' as me.

So much that one poster even talked about "religious intolerance" in response to Saul when there has been no question about religion here at all. Which is to reiterate my point about how perceptions about different parts of the world develop as a result of people's behaviors on an international forum (whether online or not).

What are you talking about, it would be a true delight if women and men wore and behave so respectfully as they did some 200/300 years ago.

Refine spirit, manners, dignity, self esteem, respect for the elders and women, they were light years ahead of us.

It makes you a very naive person. The prostitution industry is well known as the oldest "profession" on Earth. You seek to put an end to it (I'm assuming you also want to put an end to prostitution since you seemed to want to call Yuja a hooker for wearing the dress that she did)? Good luck with that.

You say that a pianist who wore something unusual represents the porn industry? Good luck with people taking your seriously after that.

Equal rights for all? If you can wear shorts, why shouldn't Yuja Wang wear something that stops short of her knees? Equal rights indeed. Don't be a hypocrite.

Love between people: yea, calling somebody a whore and a hooker only because she wore a red short dress to a piano recital is indeed out of love and not out of spite and a perverted mind.

You want to respect women? Try starting by not calling them tramps and whores only because they did not dress in what you consider an appropriate manner. Stalin was not very unlike you, you know?

She is only 20 something. So she is projecting exactly that. I dislike her dress because it is not stylish but I am otherwise indifferent to her choice. I really think she is guilty only of lack of sophistication fashion-wise regardless of the venue, but also business wise: the reactions of the audience and the critics could have been easily predicted.
I personally do not equate showing skin with moral turpitude and lack of self-respect. Only one's actions can place them in that category.

I did. There are an enormous number of people who think the same as Saul does. And he's entitled to his beliefs. But I didn't see racism. Perhaps you could point it out.

There is nothing what to judge. Judging is when you cant see, and you have opinions based on nothing. But when she walks like that openly its obvious, and she did her own verdict and her own judging. I just say what I saw.

I saw a woman losing her self esteem and caving in to the pressures of today's world that celebrates profanities.

And that's a true shame.

No you just want other people to live based on what you like/dislike, no different than Stalin if you ask me.

Okay guys. Here's one woman's perspective. I asked myself this: if I had her body, would I dress like that for a performance? The answer came instantly: Absolutely not. I'd want to look professional, lovely and lady-like. Maybe I'm still into the "fairy princess" thing because I just don't want to look cheap, undignified or inappropriate. Old fashioned? Maybe.

I'm naive for wanting a better world?

I'm stain because I want a better world, where complete peace and harmony exists between all peoples and races?

Are you for real?

I called her a hooker because that's how hookers dress, period. She is the one that presented herself as such, NOT ME.

I wish for her to change, and become a Lady again, by dressing and behaving like one, it would be great.

What's wrong with wanting a better world, I dont get it, what's wrong?

I could mail you a history textbook and pay for international shipping if you'd like, because you seem to need one, thinking as you do that everyone had it as good as the rich of the period did. The equals rights you profess to love didn't exactly exist back then. Women were housekeepers, handmaidens and childbearers, unable to aspire to careers outside of what a women "ought to do." Women were shamed if they were unable to bear children or find a husband to do so. Their lives were full of obligations and rules and very empty of choice, in direct contrast with men. Women could not vote, there were no provisions to protect them from domestic abuse and they were very often married off young without consent. There's your utopia of respect and equality.

If anything, she seems to exude self-esteem and confidence. She is beautiful and she knows it. The fact that you would want to suppress her right to express that in a way totally consistent with the conventions of today's society really makes your religious leanings apparent for all to see.
