Benjamin Britten's early work for piano and strings from 1939. Incredibly kinetic, very much in A major, Britten's 'Adonis' key. We see that same key similarly used in 'Death in Venice'.

A very interesting composition:

Fantastic piece. Very English, but it's hard for me to say just how. Thanks for posting it.

Britten is something of a mystery to me. I don't know much of his stuff. (Pretty much only the War Requiem, which I really liked, but which I've somewhat forgotten). Time to listen to some more.

Glad you liked the piece.

I decided not to comment on 666. Some things just aren't worth the fuss. Ignorance and superstition... whatever.

That is a comment. Hurry and make your next post to get rid of the 666! smile

Okay! But you quoted me before I edited.

What's the use, jazzy? Take it to PM, and I wish you would. I'm getting ready for dinner with friends. Cheers!

YouTube says Ulster Orchestra, but it's actually I Musici de Montreal with Paul Stewart at the piano.
