Hi Recaredo! I'm glad the posts are informative for you. Also, thanks for your kind words about my recital performance. I've been away from the piano for so many years. I have to completely rebuild my repertoire. It will take a while (with my patience) before I have more advanced things to present.

On this side of the Atlantic it is time for me to start preparing dinner. I'll check in later.

What a great day of postings. This will be my final post for the evening. I like mellow sounds when it's bedtime. I've come across this beautiful piece by the O'Jays. Here is "Stairway to Heaven."

Good night!

Thanks, Griffin... lovely tune. smile
Aimee, I really like those PBS shows, too. thumb

Here's something from Phoebe Snow, great singer/songwriter, who passed on recently.

Good night, night owls. smile

I taught myself this on the weekend. An interesting song. Not uplifting. But my kids like it so I can play/practice it with impunity when they are in the room. (It's not too hard either the way I play it. I keep the little riff between the verses rather than trying to play it in the chorus while singing it.)

I'm working on this one too. My daughter likes it so I play it/practice it when she's around. (But nowhere near as well as this)

Good morning everyone! I suspect Rossy will be pretty busy today with his family gathering. I'm going to have a busy morning as well. However, I can't start my day without some music to get me pumped for the day.

Elssa, thanks for that fantastic post with Phoebe Snow! What a talent. "Poetry Man" is one of my favorites. Captain Kwai, I'm looking forward to hearing your posts when I get to my desktop computer. My iPad won't let me see them. Thanks for posting.

My first post today is "Nowhere to Run," by Martha and the Vandellas.

Captain K, I loved both of your posts. Beautiful piano accompaniment. It was particularly nice listening while I was taking a short break.

Break time over! smile I'll check in later.

It's lunch time, and I was listening to Otis Redding while nibbling on my sandwich. I can't share my lunch, but I can share the music. Have a listen to "Sittin on Dock of the Bay."

Excellent posts Griffin....

You know you stated "I can't share my lunch"
Well,
strictly speaking,
you can,
Just eat it,
And then,
Using two fingers, theres a spot down the back of the throat that causes a gag reflex, and PRESTO, you can share your lunch with all your friends, or relatives, or strangers, aquaintences.

Oh no hes back!!! Yes folks relatives gone now, and we can go back to tense free life,,,,,

heres a nice song.....

Good to see you back Rossy. Your suggestions as to how I could share my lunch tells me that it would not be good for me if you and my other half were to ever meet. He just loves to see my reactions to icky things like that. blush

My meeting is just about to start. I check in later when I get home.

Griffin your not going all "Port Out Starboard Home" on us are you? LOl.
Wayne eats dripping sarnies, thats gotta come under the heading "icky"

Talking of eating bad things...

OOh, actually Here is some excellent news:

I was in the Hospital with a friend, and they had to go to the dispensary (pharmacy) and there was someone in front of them getting a prescription.

The Pharmacist hands them their pills, and says, now then mrs Jones, you take one of these three times a day, just like the doctor told you, and we will have your cholestral down in no time....

She took the tablets and went.

"Hang on", I said to the Pharmacist when it was my friends turn, "are you saying that there are pills that you just eat three a day of, and that will get rid of high cholestral?"

"yes" she says, "they are very effective"

"Magic" I says, "that means you can eat what the heck you like, chips, pies, cakes, (and in waynes case LARD) Roast dinners fried breckies, and if the worse comes to the worse,
and you get "high cholestral"

You just get a few pills off doctor and your OK?"

"Well....yee..s " she says , "but your not supposed to do it that way"

"I know, I know" says me "your meant to live your life in misery instead, eating salad, and chewy grains"

"well moderation" she says..

I finished by saying "just three pills a day is quite moderate in my opinion"

mrs R was getting impatient, I had to wrap up the impromtu in the hospital pharmacy abruptly.

Good news though for the dripping eaters amongst us?

Rossy, I don't eat meat or drippin' anymore, and you won't believe this but gods honest truth, I was at work today and nipped into the coop and bought a warm cheese pasty, I took it back to the shop where I work, took a bite and it was a chicken slice pmsl. I spat it out and took it back to the coop, with the corner missing, and eventually got a refund, after having to wait ages for the manager to tell the till girl what buttons she had to press, and then all the required signitures. I then opted for the chip shop and had chips and roe instead (I eat fish)

10 mins later, the women who packages the pasties in the coop, fetched my 4 Carling and apologised. It was like getting a Brucy Bonus.
