I'm "nosing around" a good looking Craigslist Baldwin, from late 1979 according to Pierce. With all the usual caveats, what was the "situation" with Baldwin at that time - any issues or problems I should be aware of before I go look at it?
I don't know what the model is, but its a good sized upright - not a console or spinet.
Thanx!

Hi Zormpas, It may be the traditional 45" studio or it may be the big 52" 6000. I'd love to have a Baldwin 6000 myself... I love the decrative harps carved into each side of the front wood panel. Either one would probably be a nice piano, if in good condition. As far as the state of the company at that time, I don't really know, but I would say it was probably during their better days. Good luck and keep us infromed! Hey, are you still belly-dancing? Rick

I'm going to guess that its a 45" from the pix. Its very plain looking. We'll see if its on Craigslist in 3 weeks when I get to Florida.
As for Belly Dance - oh yea! I just had 2 three hour workshops with who is probably the top male dancer in the country - and then a 1 hour private!

There was a Baldwin 45" studio listed for sale on CL recently that was not for from my location. It was listed at a good price too, $500. I was tempted to go look at it, but I really don't need another piano. Guess I'm a fanatic about pianos!! Good luck! Rick

...I really don't need another piano. Of course you do! This one's a very good price also - if it doesn't have loose pins, a cracked board or block, and the action's reasonably tight, I'll probably get it. Its a bit plain for my taste, but it seems to have a nice wood cabinet. At least it isn't black!
