AimeeO I will post the letter that milla and jery and shirley signed a little later,

But for now, and for all the folk in london at the moment....
Many years ago, Boudica, Queen Of the Iceni tribe, incensed, at the outrage the Romans had committed upon her family, and supported by a quickly gathering Host of other tribes, Razed Colchester to the ground, and then marched onto, and Trashed LOndon....before trashing St. Albans.

There is a saying that goes something like "If you dont learn the lessons of history, you are doomed to repeating the same mistakes" Or something very very similar!!

The Clash, and what else? Londons burning.

Perhaps it is because they see the name "Arnold Schoenberg" in the title and just move on.

Personally, I think that this piece is absolutely remarkable, not just in terms of its melodic nature, but in terms of its craftsmanship. When you listen to all 4 minutes and 51 seconds of it you get this remarkable sense of an overarching continuity similar to the effect one gets when you listen to a Wagner Opera. Its lush chromaticism is almost overwhelming. It is just an unbelievably astounding and completely unappreciated work in my opinion.

PPP, I finally found some true alone time where I could listen to this quietly. I am absolutely blown away! Absolutely beautiful. I agree with you. Thanks for sharing with us. I suspect you found the right thread to have others listen as well.

When I was in college, I only vaguely remember the work of Schoenberg mentioned. I'm certainly open to hearing more, if you are willing to present! Thanks again!

Evening guys smile How about a little Susan Vega, I first heard these when a friend of the family bought my mum the album on tape cassette, there was no music on any of the songs though, but I liked it regardless

(the friend of the family Michael was a musician, very good aswell, but off his head on drugs, he committed suicide a couple of years later, he made an album but it never got anywhere, it's a shame 'cos it was good, and I don't think there is any record of it, we did have a copy, but it got stolen as it was in the van my dad owned when it got stolen)

Wayne if you pm me his name and any name you can remember that the albumn may have been called, Mrs R is totally unreal at research, if any one can track anything down its mrs R.
She holds a degree from Lampeter uni in archeology, she is phenominal at research, for real, serious serious.
She is an archivist of the first magnitude.

I can remember 2 of the songs, vaguely, I'm gonna see if I can recreate them on the piano, and hope the lyrics come to me, one was called "Technology" (Technology is taking over)
and "Running for the bus"

I am going to post a few more toy dolls for fun..
This next one made me almost wet myself...
Its a shame there is no picture, but the "music" speaks for itself...

The toy dolls version of "final countdown" funny as a box of frogs...

Good morning everyone! There were sure a lot of fun posts yesterday. I am looking forward to another good day of music sharing.

My first post is the "Shoop Shoop Song" sung by Betty Everett. You may not remember it by title. I think you may recognize it when you hear it. It was a big hit in the 1960s.

Enjoy!

My second post reached #1 on the pop charts in the U.S. in 1966. Here is the Four Tops singing "I'll be There."
