Hello everybody

At our study course (musicology) there's a nice tradition of a little concert at the end of terms where the students play short pieces in a non-competitive manner laugh For that occasion I'm looking for a relatively short, funny/comical piece for piano 4-hand. Probably something in the mould of some Victor Borge routines, or the Ragtime alla Turca:

Ragtime alla Turca (though this one'd be too difficult for us)

A routine where classical music is presented in a funny/unexpected way would be class. Last time we played Fauré/Messager Souvernirs de Bayreuth: Souvernirs de Bayreuth

Does anybody know such pieces? As a last condition tthe sheet music should be available since it would be too tedious to transcribe something for that occasion

PW member Orange Soda King played a 4 hand piece that was funny in a concert at a summer music program and posted a video it. I don't remember the name of the piece, but you could PM him if he doesn't read this thread.

Cortege Burlesque, also by Chabrier.
Paraphrases by Borodin et al.

Not comical, but light, very upbeat and not too difficult:
Smetana's Rondo in C

Edit: Oh, sorry, I misread you post. This piece requires 8 hands.

I don't know where I saw it, but I saw a funny 4-hand performance of the old classic, "heart and soul" somewhere. They did a big intro full of arpeggios and glissandos, then broke into the song, plunking it out like kids do everywhere... then they started embellishing, changing from style to style, switching parts (and switching seats on the bench) without stopping, etc. It was pretty good, and would be very easy to work up.

It is funny if you have two 4-armed pianists!
