Just a quick question really, I've looked around the web and can't seem to find the answer. So im basically wondering how to record from my Korg digital piano to upload a video to youtube with good sound quality i know you have to record the piano via line in to the computer and then video separately and sync the two but im having a few problems: My problem is i can only record from one of the headphones sockets because the sound shuts off, so i need the other to hear what im playing. However this results in poor audio quality as its recording mono not stereo. Is there a way around this? Also im wondering can i record from the piano straight into my phone if i buy an adapter for it (as my phone has a standard 3.5mm out) because it has HD video recording capabilities and would save the Syncing process. My Phone is a Samsung Galaxy S I9000 if this helps. This is the sort of quality im hoping for: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Rmm-UceBMQThanks for your time.

Am i correct in thinking that if i record through my phone via the adapter i can only record mono? as the other headphone socket must be reserved so i can hear what im playing?

Or you could shell out a little money for an external interface. Most are expensive, but a few are quite cheap. The Behringer UCA202, for example, is like $28 on amazon. It has RCA in and out, as well as a headphone jack. Attach your piano using an RCA cable, then monitor using headphones plugged into this thing's headphone jack. Plug the usb cable into your computer and record away. I've done this with mine. I suspect you could also send the sound out to speakers using RCA out while you are playing if you want, though I haven't done this.
Anyway, you can make a nice clean recording this way, cleaner and better than using the built in inputs of your computer or phone (I got it because my computer line-in always had static or popping sounds). You can keep using it with your next computer since it's USB.
Anyway that's how I would do it and it looks like that's what the guy in the demo did as well. I assume that little gizmo he touched half way through was an external interface.
