Hello!
Do some of you have an idea of how long it does take from now on, before a successor/an upgrade to Kawai MP10 is in the offing? How long did there go between MP8 and MP8 II? I know that MP10 is still a pretty new product, but I'm just very curious :-)
I hope you do have a guess!

I am sure our good friend "Kawai James" knows the answer to this same question... I have been meaning to ask him in a private message but that isn't fair to place him in that "corporate position". He probable can't tell us but I would like to know the answer to this as well.
My ultimate setup would be a Korg Kronos, Jupiter 80, and a MP-11. Everything would be covered with this setup for me.
Take a freshly tuned, regulated, voiced Shigeru Kawai EX, make new recordings, take that "10gig of data" (use the highest resolution possible) and put it to an SSD drive with the same keyboard we now have in the MP-10. Now that would be a piano!
Now dream big... Give it a 50 gig SSD... Then do samples of a Yamaha, Bosie, Steinway, Fazioli, with the Kawai in it and we would be set! I would gladly pay $50 bucks for the additional samples when they became available.
I would gladly pay $3500 for this beast! With the hard drive, like the Kronos, Kawai could keep us updated with the latest and greatest patches.
My two cents... I know James is reading this because "He is the man!"

Korg Kronos Japan just announced that they will have an Austrian Piano (Bösendorfer) released for their Kronos... See what I mean about an SSD drive being used...

They've not been out even a year so I would think it'd be a while. Sales for the MP10 seen to be doing quit well considering how much smaller Kawai's distribution network is, but I think if it weighed closer to the CP5/RD700NX it'd probably sell even more. That's the price you pay fort such a good action!

All right - so drawing a conclusion: By all appearances, an MP10II/MP11 won't appear within the next couple of years?

I agree - the MP10 is still to reach the peak of its sales and influence in the market place and it looks like a product engineered to have a long life in the market. It would surprise me if there is a replacement within three years.
