I just finished Faber and Faber's Adult Piano Adventures and I purchased the second book but my piano teacher doesn't think I should continue with it as she feels I might be put off by it. Not sure I agree but she is the professional. She ran some music off that I thought was very boring and too easy. I didn't have any trouble with the first FAber book. I played as a child. learned to read music, but never learned to use the left hand properly (I played the same melody with both hands). Any suggestions? I don't mind a challenge as I love to feel the accomplishment. I am not liking her taste in music and I am not as excited about learning the piano as I was. I have now been playing for about 8 months. Thanks.

Sometimes you take two steps back to go forward.

Have you given any thought to finding andother teacher or speaking with with your tecacher about your feelings? I've liked most music selections but not all - but have always learned from playing them.

Hope things work out for you. Let us know.

I think you should speak with your teacher. It's your lesson, if you want to continue in book 2 let her know.

Let your teacher know your taste in music and what you want to play.

If she is resistant to what you want, then I would look for a new teacher.
