BenPiano - sounding nice! New Age influenced. C#/Db is actually a really easy key signature on the piano. Easy on the fingers. One of my favorite keys.

BillM - you're such a great comper! Sounded fantastic.

Augustina - very interesting version. A rhythmic variation that I've never heard. Great job. I'm already thinking of Christmas anyway. It's connected to school starting.

Elssa - a really nice rendition of Wave!

Many thanks for your comments Bill, Ben,Cathy,Elssa ,Dennis & jazzwee.

Yes written 34 years ago, I will be a grandad in December and I have been at this music stuff for a while laugh

Ben – I can’t agree that your piece is a simple, there is a lot going on, a perfectly paced arragement with nice variations and the melody is lovely. I enjoyed the video too but the music didn't need it to make things interesting.

Bill – another great performance but I must say you excelled yourself with the piano arrangement on this one, great stuff.

Augustina – interesting variation on the old favourite“Kings” , sounds difficult to play. Nice.

Elssa – you have a great feel going there on Wave , one of your best.

jazzwee - superb feel on Body & Soul, beautifully relaxed on what is a very difficult tune to improvise on - love the sound of the piano, just how I like it.

Ben,

That really was outstanding. You are so talented. And the video was great too. Thanks for sharing.

Jazzwee,

What a nice, dreamy Body & Soul! Really liked the way you let the lines breathe and kind of hang there (if you know what I mean.) Is it my imagination or has playing in that regular gig you have really opening up the way you play your improvs? Well done.

Jim

Thanks jazztpt! I learned this song years ago and I never had the guts to improvise on it. So it clearly is difficult to make a statement on. I took on Giant Steps before this. LOL.

It's the reverse Jim. The changes in my playing cause me to do gigs/jams. I think you can blame my teacher. When I feel cocky that I'm getting better he will blast me to bits so I get a dose of reality. After feeling like I can improvise on anything, he tells me I'm playing useless things and scales. So the focus now is on melodic content. Based on your comment, maybe it's getting there smile Thanks!

I liked everything alot.

BenPiano... That was seriously good.
jazztpt and jazzwee.... Really good. I can't help when listening to jazz that I would do it like...this..or..whatever. I guess it's the mind of jazz that makes me do that. Love it. But then I'm always changing songs...words especially. Love listening to you guys.

Just thought I'd post a little humor instead of creating it. Thought of posting a "Playing piano one day and perfected Jerry Lee Lewis." Then show a video of my right foot pounding on the high keys. smile

Ausgutina - you're right, that's a wonderful version of that song, and you did a good job with it, too - very pretty.

LadyPayne,

Its a Small World is such a trip down memory lane for me. I was 11, and it was the WORLD'S FAIR! And it was the PEPSI/Disney exhibit! Ah, times were so different then it is hard to imagine. Thanks for reminding me.

Augustina; Never too early for Christmas songs IMO - Great job - loved all the arpeggios! thumb

LadyPayne; I loved that - terrific arrangement and playing! Which arrangement were you playing?

Jazzwee; That was a wonderful rendition of "Body and Soul"! smile

Elssa - A fun and creative performance. I like the way you layered the effects to create a one-woman-band one-of-a-kind arrangement. Nice.

jazzwee - A professional sounding recording and rendition. I love the understated backing and the way you let the this very cool melody just kind of ooze out. The slight echo on the brushes is a nice touch.

ladypayne - between your new piano and your new recorder you really have it going on now. A spirited rendition of an iconic and fun piece.

Elssa: The arrangement is in the following Disney book. I found the link on Amazon for the book I have. There are also some other very nice arrangements of some Disney songs in that book. The songs are not easy (maybe intermediate level) but they are fun to play and sound beautiful. I recommend buying it for anyone who loves Disney songs smile

http://www.amazon.com/Disney-At-Piano-Solo-Songbook/dp/0634004166/ref=pd_sim_b_1

If the link doesn't work the title of the book is Disney at Piano Solo songbook

I was going through my piano books this morning and came across an interesting piece that I've never heard before. Thought I'd share it:) The Audio Quality is kind of bad on this song. I might have to find else for recording other then my cell phone:) Anyways Enjoy!

A great assortment of fine musical presentations on the September piano bar so far!

Jazztpt, your playing does sound very professional… what are you doing on the beginners forum?

BenPiano, I enjoyed your piece, and your upright Kawai piano sounds great!

Bill, you never cease to amaze me with your excellent playing and singing! You should be a professional performer!

Augustina, I enjoyed listening to your piece!

Elssa, you are so good on the keys, it takes my breath away!

Jazzwee, I enjoyed listening to your presentation!

Ladypayne, your piece was very nice, as always!

I haven’t written any new songs lately, but I may write a new song about how great you all are on the ABF!!! laugh

Anyway, I may post something a little later on… I’m having a ball listening to your great music!

Take care!

Rick
