Hehe...

From the interview: "For me, personally, I think [the hardest Chopin etude is] Op. 10 No. 1 – never felt comfortable performing it. Op. 10 No. 2 is hard too. I think if you can play both of these, you can pretty much play anything at the piano. If you can play the Chopin Etudes, you can play anything."

Sound like a familiar thread? smile

p.s. Looks like Keith noticed the same thing at the same time. smile

Thanks for linking that. I am glad to see Koji Attwood getting some recognition, he deserves it.

Just cause I like to cause trouble, I liked this part of the interview:

EH: Because every pianist has a different answer, which Chopin Etude is the most difficult for you ?

Attwood: (laughs) For me, personally, I think Op. 10 No. 1 – never felt comfortable performing it. Op. 10 No. 2 is hard too. I think if you can play both of these, you can pretty much play anything at the piano. If you can play the Chopin Etudes, you can play anything

We could even say he fronts it up grin because we were talking about if someone can play all the Chopin etudes, and he thinks those 2 are enough to be able to say it! (And I agree they sort of are.)

I think in that thread some people were looking at it in terms of whether the Chopin etudes would teach us everything we needed for everything else. I wasn't, and clearly Koji isn't either (and I guess you also); we're saying that if you have the ability to play the etudes, you have the ability to do anything else too.
