This past weekend, clients who made their way to PianoCraft were stuck working with me, as my business partner Shaun Tirrell was donating his services as a pianist and emcee for a concert paying tribute to the victims of 9/11.
Shaun would be embarassed that I am posting this here, but I am very proud of him and I wanted the fine people of PianoWorld to know of his generosity. He is a really great guy. He told me this was the most moving concert he has ever been part of.

BTW, the hall seats about 1200 and was completely sold out.

Here is a blog about the concert:

Here is a bit more about the concert and a link to a quick TV news show that talks about it:

As a part of it's season opener, the Savannah Philharmonic pays a tribute to the victims of 9/11.

The show was called the American Spirit and featured patriotic music.

Half of the proceeds from the $100 tickets is being divided equally between the First Ranger Battalion Foundation and the Military Family Relief Fund.

The military got a standing ovation at the show tonight. The concert was held at the Lucas Theater in downtown Savannah.

Kudos to Shaun for doing this!!

Interesting choices for the music played. I'm sure he was great in the Rhapsody in Blue.

So it embarrasses Shaun! Let's do it some more. As I wrote on my site (thanks for posting, by the way!), Shaun made my daughter's evening. Her imaginary friend for the last five or six years has been George Gershwin - Ira shows up if we need an extra soccer player or something. We can't wait to see him again in November.
