Per the Pierce Piano Atlas:

Davenport - Treacy, est. 1873. 444-446 W. 16th St. Later 548 West 36th Ave., New York. Kohler and Campbell took over in 1916. Also made Carter pianos. See Kohler and Campbell after 1957. See Brambach numbers on Davenport-Treacy.

Serial numbers are listed for the years 1902 through 1957. If you will post the serial number of your piano I can probably tell you the year it was built.

Enjoy!

Per the Piano Atlas, your piano was built in 1916.

Enjoy!

This is driving me nuts. I've bumped into an old Davenport-Treacy piano somewhere recently, and I can't remember where.

I just got my families Davenport Treacy piano brought to my house. It was my great-grandfather's and I used to play it all the time when I was younger. My grandfather brought it to my house as a wedding present and I couldn't be more happy. I found the serial # and wanted to know how old it really is. The serial # is 113325.

Can anyone help with dating this piano?

That serial number doesn't show up on this list...

Hi, I have a Davenport and Treacy Upright piano serial # 13771 that I would like to sell. The piano is in good condition. I would like to know more about my pianos history but I cannot seem to find this serial number online, nor can I find anyone who will tell me how old the piano is. Can you help me with this please.

Thank you,
T.Cota

It was made in 1906 and has little or no value. There are more people trying to get rid of old pianos than there are people who want them, unfortunately.

Thank you, not sure I agree with the value part though. I've had offers. Thanks

How about posting some pictures! Don't think I've ever heard of or seen a Davenport and Treacy piano, upright or grand.

Welcome to the Piano World Forums, by-the-way!

Thanks for the pics! Nice looking piano. Looks like a high quality instrument, judging from the looks of the harp.

Sorry, David, I don't have a Piano Atlas, but many members here do... maybe they will chime in with a date. On the value, that is a tough call. It could range from $100 to $500 to whatever you can get for it, depending on condition and how much someone else wants it.

Good luck!

Rick
