Just wondering if anyone had a pdf of his first concerto for the piano only. Couldn't find one on imslp for just the piano, or any other site for that matter.
Thanks!

without the orchestral part, even as a 2nd piano, it would be of little use.

After the audience's negative reaction at the premiere of the Danse Macabre, the composer's mother fainted...Saint-Saëns himself mounted the chairs at the premiere of Le Sacre du Printemps...

No such thing exists. You'll have to learn it from the 2-piano score.

I have the five Beethoven concertos with only a solo part but the orchestral interludes are included. If one wishes to practise with a 2nd piano then they are useless.
To practise the solo part and see/play the orchestral entrances, etc., might make it more useful. Whether the Tchaikovsky #1 is in a similar format I don't know. Hmm. I personally would rather work from a book that had the second piano orchestra reduction the entire time, so I can always see what the orchestra is doing and how to best interact with them. I don't think it's wise to only know your part and only practice seeing your part and that's it. Still, I know plenty of people who practice with the standard kind of concerto books (piano part and 2nd piano reduction) and they still don't know how the orchestra part goes, except for right before their entrances.

There may be a solo piano part included with a set of parts. Kalmus does not list it as being available separately. You might try looking for it, but it may be more expensive than a 2-piano reduction.

Just use the 2-piano version of the score. At the end of the day, its still the same notes you are learning.
