Any programs/softwares that allows me to put an violin sound on my original composition soundtrack? Thanks. I have none to record the violin duet with.

Depends on your platform and what format the original is in. Higher end notation software can do this (Sibelius, Finale), or if you're on a Mac, Garageband would be able to do it as well.

MuseScore has quite good playback for a notation program. You can try different third party sound fonts to get better results. It's available for free, it's open source:

why don't you go for the hardware: a violonist (someone who actually plays the violin)?

Beacause it isn't just only to find a violinist , there are not many 15 years old that play the violin these days.

I've yet to find a software rendition of a solo violin that is at all convincing. Good progress has been made with piano, many woodwind instruments, and many brass instruments. But it seems to me that solo strings remain very difficult to synthesize.

Any of the popular composition programs will enable you to add a violin sound to a piano. But however hard it might be to find a competent violinist, I suspect it will be harder to find a competent _electronic_ violinist.

If anybody knows of any exceptions, I'd like to hear about them as well smile

Very user-friendly program.

What tragic news the loss of Steve Jobs is. He was a man of vision and genius, and what he did for Apple is incalculable. Good night, dearest.

You could find someone online? Perhaps there's a competent Violinist on YouTube who would be willing to play/record it for you. smile

Algernon: I hope, Cecily, I shall not offend you if I state quite frankly and openly that you seem to me to be in every way the visible personification of absolute perfection.

There are a few out in the market, but they also take a competent programmer in order to full the common ears...

I, personally, adore LASS (for example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-3u6RrKF4U, although an ensemble in this case).

There's also the VSL solo strings (Various examples here: http://www.vsl.co.at/en/67/4587/4588.vsl#)

And finally there's the old Garritan Stradivari (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVCU4oX3li4), or the EWQL Gypsy library (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecsJSTE-ztA&), but I don't fancy that too much...
