Hello again :-)
I've now been playing "my" Galaxy Pianos on Kontakt 5 Player for some time now and would like to be able to play back music pieces (e.g. cd tracks) while using the Pianos - to train my ability to hear individual notes.
However, it seems that Windows media player and Kontakt Player 5 are mutually exclusive in that when one of them is launched on the computer the other doesn't output anything...?
Any of you here knows how I can amend this so that both can be used at the same time?
All the best,
Jesper

This is a drivers issue... Some ASIO drivers do not allow more than 1 software to use it at the same time, so the minute you step out of it, it shuts down...
One idea would be to switch drivers to one or the other (WMP or Kontakt 5).
Another idea would be to use repear, or audacity to import the CD track you want to use and also use Kontakt 5 as a VST inside repear/audacity and play both at the same time... Don't switch from an ASIO driver for Kontakt! You don't want more than a few ms latency delay when you play, and only an ASIO driver will give you that!

Hi both of you ... and thanks for replying once more :-)
Really my challenge is that I don't know how to change the drivers in either Kontakt or WMP... When I open WMP and go into "Organize" I guess it would be called in English and then into "Preferences" I can't see a way to change the driver.
Would you have any suggestions?
'Best for your day ...

WMP will use the system default audio device. Kontakt may have a choice.
As you play your piano sound through Kontakt in real time, I assume you're using something better than the sound card and driver that came built-in to your computer? What is it? Maybe you can use your onboard sound alongside it, feeding a different pair of speakers.

Hi Exalted Wombat,
No, I'm actually using the built-in soundcard of my computer. It's a Sony Vaio and I've heard that they may have pretty good soundcards ... However, I know it's not the best but would like to keep it this way at least for some time, if possible.
From reading what you write I may be able to change Kontakt's driver - do you know where I can see if that is possible?
Best regards,
Jesper
