Now, on a rather sombre note:
Very sad to announce that one of the industry's finest persons has left us. A man of great character and principles.
For anybody who knew him, Dino Flacco was a man of outstanding integrity and virtue. Plus a real fun guy to be with. Everybody who knew him looked up to him. Or listened carefully to his words...
As previous national rep for Boesendorfer, Schimmel and Steigerman, Dino was truly one of a kind. Someone to not only look up to but also be inspired by.
Or call in the middle of the night if need be.
Always on top of things, always 100% honest, always fully committed to his many dealers and business collegues.
When the bad news came from the doctor, he struggled courageously to the end. A tough battle that couldn't be won. Plus a battle that none of us here ever would want to fight.
Rest in peace dear Dino, you shall never be forgotten.
You surely will be one heck of a tough act to follow.
Norbert

Dino was not just a piano industry veteran. He was a 6'6" yoga master, gourmet chef, musician, father, friend. You are missed Dino. Thank you for your advice and direction.

I met Dino in 2001 when he was a Rep for Young Chang. One of the best product trainers in the business. Later, when he decided to join Schimmel, it opened up an opportunity for me to join the Sejung team which comprised entirely of ex Y/C sales reps under Ken Beyers.
Dino and I continued our relationship as friends and peers. He never did anything less than 100% in his life. One of the fondest memories I have of him is sitting in a bar in Shanghai with him and listening to a 6'6" Yoga Master/Piano Rep speaking fluent Mandarin.
He was one of the most original individuals I have ever met and he will be missed greatly. My greatest admiration of him was not his professional skills though, it was his terrific role as a Father.
Cheers Dino! Say hi to Ken for me.

In 1998, when he was with Young Chang Dino and his wife-to-be were part of a group who toured the YC factories in Inchon, South Korea, and Tianjin, China. My wife and I were also part of the group.
We toured with Joe Pramberger in the lead. He was explaining to us, and the 30+ other attendees. how he had designed the Pramberger pianos and the machines that made them. CNC machines had been recently installed at the YC factories.
Dino was about 6'7", and everywhere we went he was "mobbed" by the locals. School children often asked if they could have their picture taken with the "giant". When he was surrounded by a couple of hundred elementary school children in Tiananmen square, it was very amusing for us, but I'm not so sure he was nearly as amused!!! We could see that it was starting to grate on his nerves, but he was gracious enough to pose for dozens of pictures.
He was quite a character!
