I am looking at a used kawai model 604cf serial 75xxx, not sure with the serial if its early 60's or 90's, but looks newer. Can someone tell me what I should expect to pay for it?? The asking price is $1600, thanks for any help!!!

The Kawai 604cf is a NEWER console piano (late 90s). The Kawai consoles are not manufactured or assembled in the Hamamatsu, Japanese factory. If I'm not mistaken it was stil assembled in the defunct North Carolina factory. CF stands for "country french oak". If the furniture styling matches your existing furniture, it could be a good piano for you. $1600 is a bit high from a private party but a fair price for this preowned piano if of low milage and in pretty mint shape. I would negociate the price a bit lower to offset your move and tune expenses. If from a dealer these incidental expenses plus a limited warranty might warrant a bit higher price. Good luck.

There should be an "A" before the serial number, then it would be US-made in 1997.
