Hi ! I found this Baldwin Baby grand, and still waiting for owner to call me back. What time period this grand migh be from ?? I did a little bit of googling. Older grands had brand name written in gothic font. Thanks!

That is not a Baldwin. It is probably a Howard, which was a label Baldwin used on some of their lower-grade pianos. The decal is not original. The piano probably dates from the 1920s.

You definitely do not want to pay Baldwin prices for it. Some people do that.

That piano does not even look like a remote subsidiary of Baldwin as in Howard,Monarch Hamilton Ellington or ?. I wouldn't wait by the phone for this seller or this piano at any price but what do I know. Great advice, Guys! This is what makes Piano World such a great place⦠highly skilled expert opinions for free! If someone hangs around here long enough, it is amazing how much they can learn about pianos! Rick

I've noticed that Baldwin grands have a very no-nonsense plain rectangular music desk back. Not sure if ALL of them out there are like that.

Hi Alex, I couldn't get your pictures to load... just a blank page. Follow your on instincts. If you really like the piano and you can afford it, that is all that matters. You didn't mention price, but I'm with BDB, I wouldn't pay too much for that piano. How much is too much? It's hard to say. BDB and Pianobroker really know their stuff, and I'd be inclined to follow their instincts along with yours! Rick

I have fixed the link, it should work now (it was set to visible only to me)
They are asking ~$1000. I was hoping it is very inexpensive grand from 60'-70s. Well, it turned out to be Howard way back from 1920's.(at least this is how it looks to me)
According to google, Howard and Baldwin worked together till 1960s
Seller told me that she bought it from store for $4000 back in 1980s

"Seller told me that she bought it from store for $4000 back in 1980s "
Totally irrelevant.

The seller probably bought it as a Baldwin for way too much. $1000 would have been a more realistic price for it in the 1980s, but $1000 is too much for it now.
The plate is distinctive. Pianobroker should have caught that. The only question is which of the many names Baldwin used was on it.
