When I'm feeling the "I just don't wanna" blues, I just start...some simple easy tune....not practice just play. Hope you feel better soon.

That's sounds very unhappy Quagles.
I hope you feel like hopping back on the wagon soon.
Wisebuff has a point - just play to entertain yourself and maybe you'll feel inspired.

I signed up for MOYD at the beginning of the year, but I had a couple of breaks during the year. I spent 10 weeks in the US in the summer, without a piano. We also did a couple of weekend trips where I wasn't able to play. At home, I have played at least a little everyday, and have 356 hours for the year so far. Do I still qualify or am I officially "off the wagon"?

Sounds to me as though you should just be put on the excused list.

I have to confess I have not touched a piano for three days. My hands and wrists have been too sore even for the computer.

Today I have practiced for 15 min. It felt good even though I screwed up terribly. At least I'm back on the wagon.

I'm back home from a stressful trip...I did, at the last minute, decide to take my keyboard with. I'm glad I did - I had some pretty big chunks of time to myself and got to practice. My little problem now is that my "piece 'o junk" keyboard now has four keys that don't sound at all. Time for a new one, Santa! wink Anyway, I only missed one day at the piano (keyboard) - yesterday, Oct. 25th, because of tons of travel and exhaustion.

Think less - play more

CMohr, I'm glad you had time to play - I bet it helped with some of the stress.

Jame - have a safe trip!

I have a question, what if I don't see my name on the list and I joined on time, without missing any days? I hope its not because I don't constantly post. With an extremely busy lifestyle, I try my best to post at least every month.

Hi Banon07 - no, you don't have to report in, or update if you are playing regularly.

I remember that you registered - and I checked the 1st page of this thread.
I see I have you as a late register of 9 April - what happened is that your name is on the same line as another member, so yours doesn't stand out.Sorry about that!!!

If I've made a mistake and you joined in January just let me know and I'll correct it!

Hi All! Not posted as planned but have been playing at least a few minutes every day. Most mornings manage an hour or more before work and often play again some evenings. On Sundays and Mondays, off days, play for several hours if not running errands.

I too like Little_Blue_Engine suffer from migraines and hate to say that I missed my day off 10/24 due to one. Did play a few notes and Penny our youngest cat (2yr tabby) sat on the bench next to me instead of behind the music rest as usual. She played a few too. Does that count? Actually, she is pretty good on her own but you never know when she will be in the mood, usually at 3:30 AM. crazy

Worked on Fur Elise along with Cory Hall, "BachScholar" on Youtube. Able to play some of it actually faster but can match from memory note for note except for the 2 1/2 line B section (fast part) and A-C-E section. Can play, but slower. So, I have been practicing.

My teacher is very pleased with my progress. I even adlibbed an additional ending and, despite the fact he is rather strict about playing major pieces as written, he said, "I think Mozart would have really approved of that!" Thought you would enjoy the inside joke. grin

Hi.

I missed practice of any kind yesterday. I
had company from early on until 2 am in the morning. Although I did enjoy the out of town company I found myself longing for even 5 minutes at the piano.

Back at the piano this AM. Thank you God

I was too scared from all the ghouls & goblins to practice tonight ...

... sigh. We had people over for dinner and then, by the time I had taken the boy out treak & treating it was way too late. It's the first time I've been home this year, with my piano, and not managed any practice.

Normal service will be resumed tomorrow and I'll see if I can sneak a few extra minutes in!! smile

Yup! I had mine out a couple of weeks ago (but I used the Silent feature so no one would know I was playing Christmas music before Halloween!)
