An amazing effect, and beautiful photographs! And thanks for reawakening this excellent thread. Perhaps we will have some further photographic contributions to admire.

Hi Here's my piano. It's a restored 6 ft 9" August Forster. Snuggles nicely into the dining room, which is also sometimes the drawing studio... Forstergirl

In Conjunction with Period Piano Center this is an image I took a few years ago documenting pianos. I did drop out the background and add the name of the piano... Larry, What IS all that metal under the 1869 Erard? I'm not Larry, but I can tell you that the gizmo built into the Erard is a Patent Resonator, which was all the rage then if we are to count the famous pianists who associated themselves with it.. paderewski, Patti and many others.. it was connected via rods to the soundboard and the bars were tuned.. I imagine it is a sort of cross between a Plate Reverb and a steel drum..

1936 Mathushek Handed down from uncle Supposedly less than fifteen made. Dan, Piano Tinkerer I've serviced a piano with an identical action -- but IIRC, it had a Story and Clark name on it.

Woowww, great pics.
Just remembered about some b/w pics I took some 30 years ago while at high school. I took this photography course and one of my subjects was my piano.
Have to look around and find them.

Tuning my Baldwin. This makes me want to get up and go to the piano and play. It's like when you watch a TV show about how popcorn is made, and they have gorgeous images of popping corn; it just makes you want to have some. Mmmmm . . .

Thanks, Rich! Steal away, just give me credit when you use it. I'm a very amateur photographer & I'm constantly asking Bruce to "move over" or "wait a sec" on some piano he's restoring in the shop so I can get just another picture or two. He's starting to cringe when he sees me coming with the macro lens. Lol!

I've posted enuf piano pictures so I'll post this one that I took of my late sweet neice Breanne, 1990-2008. BTW, if anyone considers this off topic I'll glady remove it. Please don't remove this picture. It's not only a beautiful shot, but quite a memorial to your niece.

A favorite shot of mine. This is obviously a finishing room. I'm puzzled why the piano has the pedals and strings masked but the keyboard is still in place. Isn't that normally removed prior to finishing?
