Wow! I really liked the D major one! smile One little thing to note, with those little trill-type figures in the left hand in bar 33 and similar, you should notate a G# in stead of an A flat. A big part of reading music is being able to look at the overall shape of it, before you start reading individual notes and accidentals and what not. When looking at those parts just from the shape, I expected to hear repeated notes, rather than the trill figure. smile

Both are very ambitious pieces in terms of size and scope. You definitely like to contrast dynamics, textures and register. From what I saw of the sheet music they're not easy to play. In general they're enjoyable music.

However, and this is a big however, can I assume Beethoven is a big influence in your creative efforts? It sure sounds that way. As you progress as a composer I hope you'll incorporate other influences into your creative thinking. Beethoven will always be the best Beethoven who ever lived. It's great to emulate the master in order to expertise, but I hope we get to hear what Steve O'Brien has to say in his own voice.

You're off to a good start and thank you for posting your music.
